Shame on me

I suck at this.
Everytime I have the time to sit in front of the computer I start to think:
“Hm, maybe I should post something on my blog”
And then I sit there.. staring. Without a clue of what I should be writing.
This is very difficult for me because, since I want to be happy and bouncing up and down.
It’s hard when you’re alone. When you’re friends are not around, on rare occasions, (They tend to stalk me a bit since they know that I’m leaving soon 😉 hahha )
it’s harder to keep the mask.

Anywho! After posting this, I WILL do a post about my dear friend Amandas “going-away-party”

Enjoy the time you have

Today I woke up to the laughter of my mom and her friends.
Beautiful cougars that I sat with until 3 am this past night.
We ate, laughed and told each other out most precious secrets.
I have to send some love to them, because I know that they are
a few out of a couple girls that I know, will keep my mother company while I’m gone.

Sitting in my couch and reflecting on everything I learned by talking to these women.
I have felt that, these 9 days that I have left, I have to take time to do as much as possible, and of course, that’s true. Live while you can ’cause now is the time to live.
BUT. These women are between 40 and 60 and they are still having the time of their lives. I loved to sit and listen to what they HAVE done and what they ARE doing. In some ways, they are as much teenager as I am.

So, I’m thinking about going for a walk and then I’m going to my hairdresser before I take the train to Helsingborg where they have a festival going on right now.
I’m going to see a lot of friends from school as well as my usual girlfriends.

Some pictures that I took in Photobooth on my Mac last night, Hahaha, enjoy:

No, I don’t have blue hair…

11 days left!

Tomorrow, it’s my last day on my job as a Barista at a coffee shop.
I’ve worked there for three years now and to be honest, it feels great to leave

Because since I don’t have that much time left here in Sweden, I need the rest of it for my family and friends instead of just working. I’ve never been better at what I do and that feels good. Because you want to leave when you’re on top and that’s just what I’m going to do!

I’ve just eaten some smoothie and chicken and in about 5 minutes, I’m taking my bike to meet up with Louise. We’re going to go for a walk and chill in front of some movie.
I have a hard time thinking of things like leaving, NOT being in Sweden, NOT being able to hug my mom or my most beloved people. But, I know that I will have the time of my life so there is no hesitation at all. This weekend is the last I have in Sweden with my friends and I know that it will be a lot of partying, get togethers and just plain goofying’ around, LOVE IT!

I’m gonna’ write some posts tomorrow about my preparations and other, both fun and lame, stuff  to do for my trip and some thoughts from my point of view.

Bad updates!

I’m so sorry!
I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had the time or inspiration to blog.
I PROMISE that I’m gonna take care of things tomorrow.
But I have got to go to bed now if I want to workout before work.
And after work, I’m going for a walk and some time to blog and fix with my email.

Normal

Today I finally feel normal again, haha.

This friday, I went with my friends to a party in BÃ¥stad.
BÃ¥stad is hosting tennisweek right now. It was really fun and I went home quite early so I went to sleep at about two o’clock.

I worked from 15-21 yesterday and I was so tired so I stayed home. My friends wanted me to come to another party in BÃ¥stad but I ate a perfect dinner with mom and dad and then, they wanted to take a walk down to the beach and take a drink so I joined them. It was really cosy and I slept like a baby this past night so mom woke me up at nine this morning and had my breakfast ready. I always do semolina pudding for myself every day so it was a pleasant surprise to have it done and ready when I went downstairs.

I have cleaned my room and closet and instead of lunch we had Brunch with mom, dad, my brothers and my oldest brothers son who is one and a half years old.
We had a buffé with fruit, vegetables, mini-american-pancakes, whipped cream, sausages, bacon and bread. It was extremely good and it’s not often when we have the whole family together. Since I’m leaving, I really appreciate the times when I can see my brothers.

But now, I’m going out for a ride in the car, study for my drivers-license and I’ll be home when it’s a little darker outside and then I will write a little about what I will pack and maybe post some photos and e-mail my host-family.

Mom

Shelter
Listen to that song while you read, if you want.

My mother is my best friend like the pillow you cry on when you’re sad, the security-blanket you had as a child or that favorite stuffed animal that you used to hug every night.

She follows me through thick and thin, she guides me whenever I’m lost and I am terrible at appreciating her as much as I should.
I try to tell her everyday, how beautiful she is and how good she is to me.
But lately I’ve been a whole different Hannie. An evil one when I haven’t slept for so many hours as I should, if I don’t feel good, when I’m confused or when I just feel like crying.

I want to be the same, good old Hannie like I’m used to.
If you would ask people, like I actually have.
They would say that I’m a happy, energetic, nice and honest girl that always has a smile on her face. I want to be that girl. And tomorrow, after work. I AM going to go to bed at 10 o’clock! ‘Cause I have to sleep better at night. So I can support my mother the same way that she supports me.

I love you mom, and I hope that I get to keep you for many many years to come ♥
The same thing goes for you dad, you’re great and I love you! ♥

Exhausted

I had to work for 1 ½ hours more then expected..
Kind of tired right now. PLUS, I woke up with a cold this morning and by Not resting, I feel a lot better.. Positive Hannie right? Haha.
Well, tonight, me and my friend Louise is going to the cinema to watch part two of the seventh movie from Harry Potter. The last one.. (almost)*crying*

I grew up reading J.K Rowlings wonderful books and I read the first one when I was 7.
I have read them all in both swedish and english so I consider myself a true HP-fan.

So now I’m going to freshen up before I take a walk to town to buy some nasal spray that can cure my nose and head that feels stuffed right now.

And by the way, I’m in love with Birdy’s version of Bon Iver’s Skinny Love.

25 days left until departure

Today it’s 25 days left.

I can’t get that much sleep because I over-think everything. I can’t stop thinking about my job, my drivers license that I should be ready to take next week, what I should pack, how I will get the time to see all of my friends before I go, my workouts and to have time with only myself. My advice, if you’re thinking about going away as an exchange student.
Work as much as you can on holidays and weekends and SAVE the money that you earn. Don’t waste it on shopping, restaurants or coffee.
It’s not that I shop that much or is a big spender. It’s just that I would’ve wanted to have just a little more freetime now, during my summer-break.
But I love my colleagues, our regulars that comes in everyday and I’m glad that I have a job. It’s just that i don’t have that much time left. On Saturday it’s 3 weeks left until I go.

My work today starts at eleven so if I can get the time now or later this week, I will write about which company I’m traveling with, how the preparing-camp and meeting was, how many exchange-student friends I have gotten and my visit to the American Embassy in Stockholm.

I will also share how I will live, how my host-family are (but now too much since I don’t know how involved they want to be in my blog) and my thoughts about everything and most of all how I’m going to pack. Because I know, since I’ve been reading a lot of these kind of blogs, that I missed that part. No one wrote about how and what they packed and I would want to know and get tips so I will give you that.

Hi, this is me.

My name is Hannie. I’m an eighteen year-old girl from Sweden who is looking forward an exchange year in Nixa, Missouri, USA. Here, I will keep my family and friends updated while inspiring and helping people that have been thinking about an exchange year.

This will also work as my virtual diary that I can look back at when I get home.
I will try to post a lot of pictures, info, laugh and love while studying at Nixa High School as a senior.

I will also try to work out this wordpress thing and read my mom’s book “WordPress for dummies”. Seems like a good idea, huh?
Well, if you have any questions, just place a comment or mail me at hannie.blogg@hotmail.se. And I will post more information about where I live now, where I’m going to live in the US and my thoughts about it.
